please help me, odours

Hello, ive been searching a lot over the internet for the name of
those guys who are experts on scents and fragances.
Maybe not exactly the ones who make/create perfumes but the ones who
are experts on recognizing scents, smells, odours, etc...
Perhaps most of you have seen "Hannibal" the movie where Clarice
Starlings takes a letter from Hannibal Lecter to a perfume company
where some guys tell her which things are on the hand lotion Hannibal
Lecter was using at the time he wrote the letter.
WEll, thats just anexample, but I guess you get the idea of what im
looking for. SOme where I found perfumist but Im not sure thats what
im looking fore.
