Default Help with Lion Brand Incredibles Ribbon Yarn

Hi all! Happy New Year!

I have been crocheting for many years and just picked up some Lion
Brand Incredibles ribbon yarn.

While it looks really cool, what a pain to work with.

I would love any tips anyone has on keeping it from curling up on
itself while using it. I figure that would be more forthcoming than
how to keep my cat from stalking the roll while using it.
Thank you for your time,
Jenn

Some people like to put a ball of yarn into a Ziploc-type bag, and
snip one corner for a hole to pull the yarn out through. There are
canvas knitting totes sold with a brass grommet in one side for the
same purpose. (I'd prefer the plastic bag, since that can be cut off
if I just have to get the yarn loose; the tote would be expensive
to cut and replace!)
