At the moment, some Michael's stores are having "Dollar Days" sales and
selling basic DMC 5 skeins for $1 -- so if you're planning a project with 97
colors, nows the time to kit it up....

Last bit of info on floss, Wal Mart is the cheapest, but has only
about 1/3 of the DMC colors. Michaels is a little more expensive, not
more than 5 cents over Wal-Mart and has probably closer to 80-90% of
all colors (at last sighting, they did not have the 150-170 series).
Joann's is the most expensive of the chain corporate stores and they
have almost all the colors including the 150-170 series.

I think I'm going to bring back a full suitcase of flosses and other cross
stitching accessories.

Unless there are local needlework shops nearby, you can seek out Hobby

Lobby,
Michaels, or Walmart. All of them sell DMC at four for a Dollar, US.

Sometimes
Joanne's Fabric and Crafts has them 6 for a dollar, but regular prices are

4 for
a dollar.

As always, I offer to anyone overseas who finds DMC at these incredible

prices
too high, I will take lists and go buy all you need, you just pay shipping

and
for the floss whatever price I paid. A recipt will come along with the

package.

I know of people who buy up a ton of white DMC and overdye it themselves. When
it goes on sale, I remember a friend of mine who sent about 20 dollars US to
someone overseas or somewhere which overcharges for floss.

My offer still stands. Anyone overseas needing DMC floss, tell me the colors,
pay for them and postage and I will be glad to send them out.

I live in Central FL and I find the best prices for DMC at The Rag Shop. If
you catch it on sale, it's $.20 a skein, off sale it's $.25.
I'm sure there is a Rag Shop in Orlando and quite possibly in Ft. Myers.
Enjoy our blistering summer!
Always,
Kitt

No Rag Shop here in Orlando. We have Wal-Mart, Michael's, JoAnn's and Hancock
Fabrics for floss. They all carry floss at a lower cost than an LNS. Prices
vary due to current sales.

I think the closest Rag Shop is in Ocala on Silver Springs Blvd.

I have a Rag Shop not too far from me in Jensen Beach and they do have a
very good selection of DMC and odds and ends (needles, stretchers, etc) but
they don't have a terrific amount of cross stitch or needlework kits and
only a few pattern books. If you're into quilting they have very nice
fabrics at reasonable prices and a lot of craft stuff.

We have a Rag Shop in Brooklyn and I'd trade it in a heartbeat for a
Michaels or a Jo-Anns (or A.C. Moore, even better, or Hobby Lobby.)
It's very small, the needlework section is DMC floss and DMC linen (a
new addition), and they've removed almost all the charts. Lots of
scrapbooking and silk flowers though.

I wish we had a Rag Shop. Just when I moved away from Long Island I think a Rag
Shop was being built. I shouldn't complain. We in Texas have so many wonderful
needlework shops. I wish Ginger's would move closer to our house. Wait, maybe
that's not such a good idea!
