I'm here...just finding my way back after the holidays and what life
throws at us as we are trying to play. I've about given up using the
webtv as it just isn't compatible with the techology of today and
freezes up on everything and nothing.
I do find my mailbox filled with spam and junk each day. More power
to them. When it bounces back I hope it knocks them out of
cyberspace...lol

It will take me awhile to find my way around here with the computer
and catch up on things but I am here Mirjam and All.

Default boooooohooo where are you all ?

Here is my pattern

make a gaugue of your wool
measure circumference of head [or if made for others take accepted
measurements]

cast on 6 st divide over 3 DP , close to a round , put a marker at
first st
knit in the round , 1st round , k1, p1 in each st.... [12 st]
2nd round , knit
3rd round , k1, p1 in each st .....[24 st]
4th knit
5th round , k1, [k1,p1 in every 2nd st] [36 st]
6th &7th knit
8th round , k2, [k1, p1 in 2nd st] , ... to end [54st]
9th & 10th knit
Now calculate how many stich you miss till you have the full number
you need and add to your next round using the same system i used
above .
and from now on k2, p2 . till the work measures half [1/2] the
measurement from one ear to the other measured over the head.
Knit only 2/3 of the stiches you have. turn work knit back , move the
1/3 unknit st on another round needle
knit thus back and forth over alength of half a finger, cast on the
number of 1/3 stiched and go on k2 , p2, untill you reach the height
of nose to colar bone,
Divide work into 2 , thus that the 1/3 of stiches where the Hole is ,
is in the middle of one of one of those halves.
Now work them as 2 separate parts ,
Front half [under the hole ] , k1 , p1, k2 together , now k2 ,p2 as
the stitch come above, end with k2 tog, p1, k1
Turn , k1 , p1 k1 , work st, as they come out above it , k1, p1 , k1 ,
turn
go on like this until you have a 1/3 of your st left cast of

back half , k1 , p1 k2 tog, knit /purl as st come , end with k2 tog,
p1 , k1 turn
knit all rows like this till you have a 1/3 of st left cast of

collect the 1/3 stitches left on round needle , cast on st [ every 2nd
row] on one side of hole , cast on same number as above st on under
side of hole [ on the newly cast on st, that closed the round] , cast
on on side , k2 m p2 all round for 2 rounds, take a needle 2 sizes
smaller than the one you work on and while knitting the next 2
rounds , decrease 1 [ by knitting 2 tog] st at each side of the middle
ex 1/3 number of st , now cast off loosely all around the face hole .
feel warm ..

I do the same thing. Make something give it away and then kick myself that
I didn't take a picture. I'm going to try and be better about that.
