Hi I am new to the forum, and am trying to get info on how to get
started with making beaded jewerlry. Should I take a class or buy a
book. If you suggest take a class does anyone know of any that are
free or inexpensive. I am a single parent and a full time student. I
am in the Kansas City Missouri. All help would be greatly appreciated!

Why not try your local library - first for jewelry making books and to
see if they have jewelry making classes. I teach here (NJ) at several
libraries in our library system and the classes are free to patrons.
Other than that, try a local bead store for beginning jewelry classes,
they are usually around $25.00 or so. High schools and community
colleges are also good sources of classes.

Hello there!

Honestly, i started out with a book and to be honest, the result was
not that bad! I even sold what i had! But i plan to take some courses
to do some wire jewelry. I'd love to do some macrame too. If you wanna
see my blog, hit me up, and u will see what u can do with little or no
expericence; just a book!

I've seen in craft stores inexpensive beading classes on the schedule. You
may want to try there. The classes in actual bead stores may be a little
pricier than you want.

I am pretty much self-taught. If there is a Michaels near you, check
out thier jewelry classes. I am sure they are inexpensive. Good luck!
