Default Finished object: lace and bead scarf

I knitted a lace and bead scarf of my own design to give to mum for
her birthday. Photos he

It's the only knitting I've done of late and I had to work hard to
meet my deadline, I've had a few days off the knitting now and despite
having some (read: quite a few) other projects on the needles, I feel
an overwhelming urge to start something new. Must resist, must finish
already started projects.

I got some lovely silk from Colourmart recently: it's singing a siren
song to me. If you haven't heard about Colourmart then I'd recommend
having a look at their website:
http://www.colourmart.com/
It's potluck what's available but the prices are good and I was
impressed with the speed of delivery to me given I'm in an out of the
way place. (Standard disclaimer about being unaffiliated with said
company etc.)

This is a gorgeous scarf, and I'm extremely jealous (smile). Your mum is a
lucky woman!

I left you a comment on your site, as well, but I have to say I think this
is simply beautiful. I really love the scallop border and I the beading is
a subtle and lovely detail. The few times I've attempted lace-type
stitches, I either end up with too many stitches after a couple of pattern
rows or too few. I guess I'm not cut out for lace stitches. :-)

Your mom is one lucky woman!

This particular lace scarf is knit all in garter stitch - if you can
knit 2 stitches together and do an over it's quite achievable.
Everything in knitting is based on just knit and purl stitches.

Thank you all for your kind feedback.
