What is you preference for yarn winders. I am thing about purchasing one.

Hi Dennis,

I'd definitely go for a winder with a bigger capacity next time if I
can afford it. My current one really only winds a about 50g per ball
and I prefer to work from larger balls. That said the larger winders
are significantly more expensive. I guess like so many things you buy
the best you can afford and that you get what you pay for. My winder
holds the ball upright, but I've seen winders that operate in a
"horizontal" position - I don't know how these two arrangements
compare, can anyone comment?

Hi Dennis
I agree with Vintage Purls. I have a regular upright ball winder. See link

Sometimes I think I could use one with a larger capacity. Last night I was
winding heavier wool for felting and it doesn't take long to wind it to
capacity.

Thanks to both of you.

I am looking for one that will wind at least 4 ounces maybe 8.

Hugs to you both,
Dennis
