Need more info...how old is she? Does she have a fever, even slight?
Could be an ear infection.

My daughter woke up constantly for a while too. Both ears were infected. She
got it in the hospital. Is the only relief if you either rock her or if you
feed her?

Hi there Allaya:

I don't read all the posts here all the time so usually miss the beginnings
of threads. But, being a fairly new mommy again myself I tend to pay
attention to the ones posted about children.
My middle daughter who is now 15 had terrible bouts of everything from birth
to her first birthday.....stomach upset...major diarrea (to the point of
losing weight)...ear infections...you name it. We lived at the doctors for
nearly a yr with her. As it all turns out she had a "lactose" intolerance.
Once the doctors finally figured that out she was a very different child!
Could her crying spells be some sort of "stomach" problem?

I don't know how old your child is but I have a 3 and 5 year old.
Anything that has your child crying for two nights deserves a call to
the pediatrician.

An ear infection can cause crying at night because she's laying down.
Antibiotics will knock this out in no time.

Teething pain is usually worse at night (my belief is that there is
nothing to distract them from the pain) and tylenol can help.

I could go on but please at least call her doctor. Sometimes they can
help over the phone and they should know your child better than us.
Also, my pediatrician was very good at calming the 'new' mommy down when
I called.

Please let us know how this works out.

Funnily enough Donna, that description brought back memories of when my DS
was tiny. He screamed, bawled, vomited, had diarrhoea, and was generally
quite unpleasant until I worked out that, while breastfeeding him, if I ate
anything with cow's milk in it he was much worse. He had food intolerances
until he was about 6 or 7, and even now, at age 24, can't tolerate anything
with caffeine in it. So Allaya, do consider looking at food intolerance, it
might just help.

Donna, Mirjam and Allaya we did talk about intollerance of lactose and
laso milk enzimes before. That is indeed what the problem is with our
new grand daughter, who has been staying here for the last 11 weeks, with
her mother and little sister. Michelle does breast feed, but when she
consumes anything with uncooked cow's milk in it, Aysia will wail shortly
after breastfeeding. The other problem, which creates the same kind of
wailing is gas, or a stuborn burb. We take times burping her. Aysia is
also starting to teeths, lots of drooling and fist in her mouth.
Remember, becoming a mother and mothering is "THE" most difficult job in
the world....been there and still doing it......(big smile)
