Hmm. Maybe on the bar side of the toggle, you could link a few extra jump
rings; or with a jump ring you could attach a length of chain which could be
cut to the desired length.

Ah, that *would* make a difference. I like barrel clasps -- but my hair, while
long and very thick, is not particularly fine. As long as I pull the barrel
around to the front to fasten & unfasten it, I have no trouble with my hair
getting caught in it.
