Hi all! Just a quickie because it's late and I'm recovering from a
depressing movie. (The Life of David Gale). Moral: Accept no substitutes
for Chicago!.

Anyway....I've got new beads and a few last recycled sets up on Ebay and
Justbeads. Possibly a bit too much purple for some folks' taste, but there
will be new colors and patterns & stuff with the next batch. I have a fresh
tank of oxygen and lots of ideas brewing.

Anyone still interested in the Japanese-style foiled beads? I'm thinking of
silver foil with ocean colored frit melted on top. I actually had a dream
about it last night. Wanted to cry when I started my torch and there was no
oxy left. Gah! (Note to self: regulators indicate how much is left. Doh!)

What beads are these?

They're a vintage Japanese bead, I'll betcha Carol or Becki have some
stashed away. They were sort of almond-shaped, base of white or black,
wrapped in silver foil then rolled in rainbow-colored or matched colors of
transparent frit. I remember a strand someone had on Ebay that was all blues
and greens. The frit sticks over the foil and gets melted down partially, so
it looks like mirror backed splashes of color. I've seen some that had
swirls of color over the silver, and some that look like sugared gumdrops.

and my regulator LIED --- thought I had at least 1/3 of a tank - torch was
"dead"
went out - and smacked the regulator - needle dropped to zero... it was
stuck...!!!!

I feel your pain! My propane regulator is like that. Now I use my bathroom
scale to figure out how much is left.

You know me too well, Karen, LOL! I still have lots of vintage Japanese foil
beads - I can't seem to bear the thought of making something with them!

I don't worry about propane - as you can get it 24 hrs a day, 365 days a
year... and i can do it in 20 minutes. When it goes out -I get a new tank....
pronto!
But Oxygen - that requires the welding place be open - and a longer trip....
