Hello all.

I know it is summer and rcty is always slow this time of year. Just a
post to say what I have been working on.

Just finished a knitted shawl for Gail. I used a combination of
"Brooke's Column of Leaves" and some of my own ideas to make it, it
turned out nice. Gail uses is all the time now, it makes you feel good.

I finished a crochet throw to cover the back of a friends couch.

Our local group is still knitting this summer for the Mission in
Rockford, IL, it is close to us. I have made several caps and scarves,
the simple knit 2 purl 2. I made several "Tuck in Scarves" , they make
up fast and the ladies staying at the mission love them. I made a
prayer shawl for a lady at church with cancer, I used the "Diamond Knit
Shawl" pattern. It is all over the internet. They all loved it
immensely. Again, it really makes you feel good to make something you
know that will make some one down and out feel better for now telling
how long. Isn't our hobby wonderful!

I did make a new cap out of sport weight wool for myself. The yarn is
some I picked up at the local Salvation Army store for a few dollars.
It was a brand made in Germany. It worked up very nice and feels great.
I stop once or twice a month at the local store. I have picked up
every thing from needles to yarn. I check every once in a while for
wool sweaters to recover the yarn, no luck yet.

Any one else have any projects finished this summer?

Oh yes, my Son and I caught 5 Walleye and 2 nice Cat Fish yesterday.
The smallest Walleye was 17", what a great day for fishing. Just
approaching the boat ramp we got caught in a down pour. We saw the
clouds and tried to beat them, we did not make it! Soaked to the skin
from head to toe. I came home and knitted to calm down after cleaning
the fish. The fish tasted great for supper tonight, especially the
Walleye!

Hugs and God bless,
Dennis & Gail

Mirjam,

I never thought of pictures. I used to take pictures of everything and
got out of the habit.

Thanks for the kind word Mirjam.

You HAVE been busy, Dennis! I am almost ashamed to say that
I have knitted very little this summer. I have tghe second sock of
a pair for Keith more than 2/3 done, and all I need is some kind
of incentive to finish the thing. LOL Maybe this message will spur
me on to get it done.
