Default Mirror Photos?

I have done this, and youcan do it very precisely and cleanly by masking the
area to be removed, stripping the sealing paint with a paint stripper or
apropriate solvent, then taking off the silvering with muriatic acid.

If i'm not mistaken I've seen somewhere that you can some how scrape the
back off a mirror and place a photo on the back. Then the photo shows
through the mirror. If anyone has any directions that would be great.

If you take the backing off a mirror don't you just have a piece of clear
glass?
