Default knitting letters?

Hello

I am knitting blankets for my nieces and would like to put their initials at
the top but am unsure of how to proceed. Does anybody have any idea or can
direct me to someone who does.

Thanks

Couple of things you could do:

1) There are some patterns for capital letters on my website
http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/punchcards - pick the ones you want and
create a punchcard. Remember to punch the letters mirrored, otherwise the
letters will come out wrong. Obviously, if the blanket is not lined, then
the fairisle floats could get caught on little fingers though.
2) You could just swiss darn or embroider the letters afterwards
3) An idea I thought of, if you have the time, is to use a paint package (eg
the basic one with Windows) to type the letters into a blank bitmap, and
then zoom right in and see which "pixels" have been coloured in - useful if
you want to use a fancy font, but will take some trial and error.

Hope this helps,

Jane

Can you get stitch related graph paper? if so just draw your design onto the
paper and copy onto the punchcard. You may need to tidy up a bit. Or do you
know anyone with an embroidery machine?
