I thought that I heard the announcers say that the 'skate holding' is
now required? I think that Dick Button (OT) made a comment about it
too. Can you believe he's still around? Of course it wouldn't be the
same without him, need Scott Hamilton too.

Yes, you get extra points for holding your skate, so essentially it's
required.

I was doing the math last night, Dick Button is about 80! He only looks
lower 60s, I was surprised.

Scott Hamilton comments during the actual competition.

Congrats to Eric Lysacek or however his name is spelled. He's been my
favorite lately. :-)
