Wow! That's gorgeous, Laurie! I've always loved trapunto, and this does
have that look.

A summary of my life:
~DD home from 6 mos studying in Europe, moving her into an apt for her final
yr at college (unless grad school becomes an option) I'm trying to get her
to get the rest of her stuff cleared out of her room so my quilting
machine/frame can go in there

won't be forever theirs? G

Happy birthday!

and taking some classes! The link is to a mini wholecloth quilt. I am taking
a short series of classes with the "Quiltmaker to the Queen" - Jill
Schumacher at my LQS. This mini quilt was a result of the 2nd class. She is
an awesome teacher and the things you can do even after the 1st class are
amazing! This was done on my Pfaff and was all freemotion. The 3rd class is
trapunto and the 4th class is design. You bring a finished top and she
brings 800 or so of her stencils. She helps with planning design and marking
the top.

I will post pics of my first piece and my trapunto piece (after I do it!)
later in the month.
I'm also taking a stars class using Alex Anderson's Stars book. Quite
fun!!!! I'll post pics of the blocks I'm making when I get a minute to do
so.

My next big decision is whether to go back to work after taking the summer
off. I think not......... :-)

Can't wait to see your other pics, Laurie. And going back to work vs.
staying home and quilting? Not a difficult decision, I'd think.

Thanks! Actually, it was much easier to do than it looks. Of course, now I
need to try to do a regular size quilt! That will be a much bigger
challenge, I think!

Thanks! I told my hubby that if I had a real big longarm I could do it on

Speaking of which...how are you doing on yours?

You just have to explain to your hubby that you really *need* a big long
arm. I just know that he wouldn't deny you anything that you really *need*
;-)
I'm still having lots of fun. I have found that using pantos is much easier
than SITD and outlining. I loaded an old quilt top that I had in my closet.
It has a several large areas of a chicken wire print. I have been practicing
quilting on the lines of the chicken wire. It's a little harder to stay on
the lines than I expected. I also did a little SITD on the same quilt. I'm
sure this quilt will be on the frame for at least a week while I practice on
it. I enjoy practicing, so it seems to go pretty fast :-)
Say hi to the gang for me.
