Default Class and lecture Sar Nephew Was terrible

Two local guilds in PA took a class by Sara Nephew. I waited to post this
until I spoke to a number of people from my guild. The people that took the
class in my guild the first day had to leave the class to go buy extra
fabric because the instructions she sent ahead of time was not clear. She
had fabric there you good buy from her for $25.00 I had bought $1.00 a yard
fabric to use just to learn the technique. The same thing happen the second
day. About 5 people took their stuff and left when she started about how to
measure your fabric to see if you have enough. That was because she made you
feel stupid and almost insulted you. Then in the instruction it said nothing
about sewing by hand. So, a lot of the ladies didn't bring a needle. You
could pin she said but she prefers to sew. She didn't talk very little. She
sold here books and rulers at full price didn't offer even a 10% discount
because we took her class. Shad had her husband with her during all the
classes and the lecture. He walked around and looked at what we were doing.
She had brought about 8 quilts on Fridays class to show what they looked
like finished. The Saturday class she brought 1 quilt. She had the
personality of cardboard. The members I talked to and also myself will never
talked another class from this lady and I will never buy her books or
rulers. I will not support a business of someone that is sooo not friendly
to their clientele. We paid her and she acted like we were inconveniencing
her. All she wanted to do was get to Philadelphia to her daughters for 4
weeks. Oh, that brings up about the rulers. She only had 6 rulers left to
sell at Saturdays class that had 21 people in it. They had to share the
rulers they bought. Then after members gave her checks for rulers then she
told them she didn't have enough with her and she would mail them to them
but, it would be in about 5 weeks because she was going to Philly first. She
said she would pay the shipping because she hadn't brought enough. How
generous of her. Some of the ladies were making projects and will have to
put them on hold for 5 weeks. She was just a down right poor speaker (I fell
asleep during the lecture) and teacher. If you are planning on getting her
for your guild I would think twice. She is from near Seattle WA.

charming and interesting and explained things well.

Thanks for the info. I'm going on our guild program committee in September,
so it's nice to hear about some duds. I know everybody has an off day, but
those classes are too expensive and time consuming to get poor instuction
and service. I see Marcella had the opposite experience, so I'll keep that
in mind too. Thanks for being brave enough to post this.
