Default A Jones Sewing Machine

Sometime ago a friend of mine gave me a Jones portable electric sewing
machine (portable in the sense that it could double as a boat anchor).
The following is stamped on the bottom of the base; JA 58 and 855252 YC. I
imagine the former is the date of manufacture and the latter os the serial
number.
The machine came from England and was sold by Wrights Sewing Machine Shop in
Chingford, London.
I recently had it serviced at our local Singer dealer who replaced the U.K.
motor with a 120v. one and supplied a new belt; all for $93.00 and was
assured its good for another twenty years.
It is complete with tools and various attachments but no manual. According
to my wife it runs well but as I intend to give it to one of my daughters
and an owner's manual would be very useful. Any idea where I could locate
one?
Thanks,
Peter Murphy,
Brampton, Ontario.

A web search suggests that there have been two companies who made Jones
sewing machines, one which has been defunct for some long time and
another which started business in 1954. You might check to see if this
later company made the machine and may be able to help with a manual.
Their homepage is at http://www.jonessewing.com/

If it is the older company, check at
http://website.lineone.net/~lindave/jones.htm to see if they can help
with a manual.
