DH just informed me this is my Christmas present. What is the best
software, or what do I need, to adapt other formats of images? I am not
even sure if I am asking this correctly, but I noticed that there are
companies that cater to certain brands of machines, and I would like to know
how easy, or even if, they can be imported into this machine.

Since my other machine is a 1952 Pfaff 130, I am very excited about all the
new possibilities.

Thanks in advance,
Paulette

I don't do a lot of embroidery with mine, so I'm afraid I'm not any help
about the formats. But, I **LOVE** the automatic tension, the overedge
stitches, super-adjustable needle positions, and needle up/down stopping...I
could just go on and on. I've had this machine for about 7 years, and
cannot imagine ever needing another machine.

Check Embird and BuzzTools. I'm not sure what your format
is. Also go to alt.sewing.mach-embroider to check with
other Janome 9000 users.

Thank you for all your suggestions! I have already begun to lurk on the
alt.sewing.mach-embroider group, and will be checking out Embird when I get
home from work.

Wow where did you find a hubby like that?
The format that the 9000 machine reads is .sew.
Embrid is a good progrrame, you can view and edit designs of any
format within embird and then its as simple as clicking save as .sew
then you need to get them to the machine, I am not familiar with the
9000 machine, possibly it is scan and sew, where you write the design
to a memory card. i will keep an eye on these threads and if you dont
get an answer I will ask my local Janome Dealer next time I am in the
shop.

Tia Mary, I not only read that post, I have saved it for future reference!
Thank you. BTW, the box came today, so now all I have to do is WAIT until
Christmas.

I am so eager to start!
