Default Labradorite vs. Grey Moonstone

How can you tell the difference between Labordorite and grey moonstone?
They don't appear to be the same. Are they? Is there a better place to
ask?

According to the International Colored Gemstone Association, only the
"adularia" variety of feldspar is moonstone. However, I've seen many
varieties of feldspar, including labradorite, called "moonstone."

I have received two different grey stones and I want to identify them
correctly. I could ask my supplier however they are slow to respond. I
thought this might be a little faster.

Thanks
Amy

I have some grey moonstone, both polished and unpolished, and 35 or 40
pounds of labradorite, also both polished and unpolished, on hand and
from what I can see is if what you have is truly grey it is not labradorite.

Lab (In my experience) has striations and a breathtaking burst of
colors, purple, reddish, green. SOrt of irridescent.

A quick search and found this link, it might help:

http://www.nexxdesign.com/stones/feldspar.htm

There is a very big difference between the two Feldspars you're talking
about in appearance. Maybe if you could post a link to your website with
pictures of the two we might be able to help you a little more.
