Default Uh Oh, now I've done it!

Today I finished sewing a couple of projects and commenced cleaning the
sewing room. I try to do this between projects so things don't get too
far out of hand.

I vacumed the floor all nice and tidy.
I cleaned and oiled and put new needles in both machines
I dusted off the cutting table
I threw away all the little bits and pieces and thread snips and such
that seem to get everywhere
I put away books and patterns and fabric scraps
I put a new blade in the rotary cutter

Everything is perfect for sewing the next project.

But...I don't want to mess it up! sigh

marcella
maybe I'll sew tomorrow...

Don't worry, that feeling will soon pass!

Gosh, Marcella, how could your sewing room get any more tidy that it already
is? Here I'd been telling DH that all quilters have mounds of fabric and
projects piled everywhere, and you had to ruin that argument.

Didn't you just tell him I'm a abberation? I make those anal tiny
pieced things...no real quilter does that! :-)

He'd see through that in a second. Funny, though, he doesn't seem to
mind how much fabric I have when I'm working on something for him! LOL
(Yes, I'm working on another quilt for him -- one of Jackie Robinson's Frank
Lloyd Wright quilts. The man will be positively spoiled!)

We've accepted a contingent offer on Mom's house, and it looks like we'll
have enough to get a new house with a LARGE sewing room. DH is already
sketching out designs for floor to ceiling fabric shelves. Gotta love it
when they are trained so well! *big grin*

Well, I suppose if he's desiging a Large sewing room it might be ok for
him to get a second quilt ;-)

Hope things go well with the house selling. Have you picked out the new
house yet or are you still dreaming the new sewing space? More
importantly, how close is the new house to all the quilt shops?

We've looked at a half dozen developments and floor plans -- still have to
resolve the one story / two story argument, er, discussion. But DH was the
one who first brought up the need for a dedicated sewing space, so that
seems to be on the list of "must haves". *grin*

The new house will probably be in the north part of Sacramento (wish we
could afford Woodland!), so still close to quilt shops. But I won't be
within a 2 mile radius of two excellent LQS's anymore... But before you
think I'll lose my Fabric Tramp title, remember there are close to a dozen
top quality LQS's within a 30 minute drive, and I'm always up for Road
Trips.

I am surprised to hear that housing prices in Woodland are more
expensive than North Sacramento...

My son is a student at Davis, and one year he lived in Woodland.
Rents were substantially cheaper than Davis. Anyway, I liked to visit
him, if I could schedule time to poke around the antique stores in the
downtown area...

Davis is just about the most expensive place in the area. Woodland has gone
up a lot in the last 10 years because people are buying here and commuting
to Davis, or even commuting to the Bay Area. (One guy I know commutes from
Woodland to San Jose every day. Yuk!)

Sacramento varies a lot by area. Mom's house is in a pricey area -- close to
or above Davis prices. My current house is in a very cheap area. Where we're
looking is mid-range, but about 20% less than Woodland. (And only a 15
minute commute, instead of my current 30 minutes)
