Help with finishing a quilted baby bib
If you haven't sewn them all yet - sew the ends first opened flat and turn
them. That's how I did the ones I made. If 1/2" is still too narrow try sewing them on a sheet of paper. The small section just at the end of the bib can be slip stitched close in seconds. -- Cheryl http://community.webshots.com/user/witchofthewest cawaites@netconnectDOTcomDOTau "catsatararat" on Yahoo msgr "IMS" wrote in message ... Hi all, I'm making quilted baby bibs for a co-worker who just had a baby. I'm using a 1/4" bias strip all around edges of the bib, and the tape is supposed to extend beyond the bib by several inches on either side of the top for tying. Once I'm done sewing the bias strip to the bib and begin to stitch it where it comes off the bib (to secure the edges of the strip), it is too thin to be fed properly by the feed dogs on the machine, so I'm running into trouble keeping the sttiches even. Anyone have any suggestions? I just can't figure out how to do this. I'm using a Husqvarna Viking 1+ machine, with presser foot "A." Thanks. -Irene -------------- You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough. --Mae West -------------- |

Help with finishing a quilted baby bib
Solvy! That's the word. It just wouldn't come to me last night. When I'm
stitching on wee garments at tricky spots - such as putting a button hole at the neckline edge with varying thickness, I use Solvy. Of course there's probably Solvy, Super Solvy and New and Improved Scented Solvy now, don't know, but you need just a little Solvy. It is usually easy to gently tear off. If it doesn't, a wet cotton swab will erase the remains. Polly "Cheryl in Oz" cawaitesATnetconnectDOTcomDOTau wrote in message ...
