I am quite accustomed to being called a liar by you for my own
experiences which are different from yours, but I will not tolerate you
calling my friends liars.
Please don`t change the subject , you have reported here a made up
story .
It might surprise you , but Everybody here Me included watch not only
several loca tv stations , but also CNN, BBC , Sky net and Fox News.
As well as several other European nets and some Arab and Turkish net.

Her native language is English and she moved to Israel after retiring,
so she receives her news from a different source than you do.
This is the most strange or funny statement i ever read, If she hasn`t
her own private sources, i am sure she watches & listens to the same
sources i do . And since you state that she is quite new here and i
live in this NORTH since 1950 , and have loads of aquaintances all
round , with whom i am on daily phones. I assure you that NO media ,
in any language has said that Kiryat Shmona was under attack of combat
enemy soldiers,,,
the Hebrew-language news media were reporting differently than the
English-language media, or perhaps her Israeli-born neighbor's English
translation of what he heard was faulty,
A name of a place can hardly be `translated differently ` and since i
to listen to both the English and the Hebrew i would have noticed such
difference in reporting [ as would have several million people eagerly
screening all news media ] had it been said any where.

happened and *you* heard it wrongly.
Don`t worry Madam , the moment i read your letter i phoned to several
places and checked ,, THERE WAS NOT one mention of such a story .
I don't know where she got that
particular piece of information.
You know in times of chaos or stress , manypeople make up rumours, in
every war [ as in other happenings] , you might find people who SAW
THIS , heard THAT, it might be that your friend. Who is not used as we
who grew up here , to a bit stress, has a vivid imagination .
I have certainly heard it often enough in the US, where all the news
media speak the same language, that one station reports something
entirely different from another station. Just the other day, three
different sources reported three different high temperatures for the day
for the same city.
Yes of course , some news might be given from different angles or
with different tempratures, But in times of wars, news like the kind
you tried to spread , are checked several times before they are aired.

I can tell you that I have seen reports in the American media of
soldiers crossing the borders,
In this war our fighting people are soldiers , and the other fighter
are Hizbula terror militia . The news were that our soldiers fight to
get in and destroy the Missile sending places . The terroe militia,
try to come over to murder or kidnap more people.
and therefore, did not doubt that what
she told me was accurate. Her career was as a court reporter, which
requires that she take down every word said in court accurately, so she
is used to listening very carefully to what is said, and therefore I
believe she heard exactly what she tells me.
If she needs help in understanding local news , you can give her my
email , and i can help her .
Spreading false facts isn`t very kind nore wise in such times.
As opposed to other
people, who have repeatedly proven themselves incapable of understanding
even what is in writing that they can re-read a dozen times to be sure
they get it right before they respond.
Hahahh i love it that whenever i proove you wronng you pull out this

There is one thing to state a difference of opinion on a topic, it is
quite another to constantly berate an individual. And in the process,
hijack this thread. It is simply not necessary to belittle someone.
That is a personal attack and shouldn't be tolerated. It's been far too
long since I've said as much.

I stated it as my opinion. I said "it seems" which implies that it is
my personal perception on it. And it doesn't take more than seconds of
research on google to see that the claims about "no friends" is a fact.

Karen is alledgedly great with the language, let her stand up for
herself with me, you don't need to fight her battles.

"It seems" does not neatly couch the hateful remarks nor conjecture.
Publicly proclaiming your venomous perceptions in no way relieves you of
the responsibility not to make personal character assassinations on RCTN.

Ignore the poster that perturbs you and let Mirjam fight *her* own battles.

"Quaker for Peace" my Irish arse! I had an "unrelated" aunt who was
a Quaker and she's probably rolling over in her grave right now in
response to that phrase at the end of this kind of post! This is NOT
any sort of a "peaceful" post but it IS another slanderous, mean,
hateful, nasty and bullying post. If you had quit after that first
sentence this whole episode could have been avoided!
If you want to send words of support to Mirjam -- as should we all
-- don't tack them on to the end of a hateful, cruel post. There is

Good morning all .
I see some of you joined the `discussion` , i had with Karen.
I wouldn`t have minded her telling her Opinions, but she wrote false
information. The situation is realy com plicated enough , So many
people are in bad situation. Why spread wrong rumours.
Instead, one might try and learn a bit more on the global situation
and see what we as individuals could do each in their own circle, to
try and make the world a little better.
As you al m ight recall i was involved some years in bettering a litle
portion of the Educational system , in all the various groups of the
Israeli society. A drop in the Ocean , but it is there and hopefully
it grows.
The world has 2 ticking clocks now, the Globalization of high tech ,
internet connections etc,,,,, and the Fundamental clock , and the RACE
between them is what will determine the future of Humanity.

After the attack on the 9/11 [ which kept this group quite busy, with
your kind hearted working on a memorial work]. Some tapes of the Bin
Laden elders or advisers were released. in those Tapes they swore
/warned the Western world "that they won`t rest until ALL HIGH
BUILDINGS and ALL AIROPLANES will be destroyed. At the time i sat
with a group of friends and colleagues, and we thought that the next
targets will be Aeroplanes, trains , Tourist resorts etc,,,,
We hoped so much to be wrong , but Alas , from Bali - to London
-Barcelona ,, and more , This places are targeted By the Fundmemtal
side of humanity.

Beter ecomomic situation and MORE education for people will hopefully
open minds to live together with others.
But there something called self deffence ands i think we should not
only selfdeffense our bodies , but also our minds and our chidrens`
minds. This group had several discussions about eduaction, and not
many of you agreed with me about my idea of teaching children to be
critical about what they are taught . Teachers are human, Even so
called Spiritual teachers, and every HUMAN should learn to ASK
questions. many questions .

Hizbulla who attacked us , had to be disarmed 6 years ago according to
decision, 1559 of the UN , who acknowledged the Internatiol legality
of our border. They have one of our People RON ARAD which they
captured almost 20 years ago and nobody knows what happened with him ,
but they keep trading with 'promises of some info about him`. For
which the recieved back some of their people, who had been cought here
during a Terror action.

The weakness of our Cherished Democratic and liberal way of life , is
used by the fundamentalists as their biggest Power over us. They use
people as tools.

I really hope , with many other Israelies that soon the war here will
go away and that we all , Israelies and Lebanese will together rebuild
our beautiful part of the world . Without being subjected to those
Fundamenatlists /terrorists.

It's a wonderful thought.

There are people in the U.S. who hope that once we oust the current
Fundamentalist War Machine currently in charge that America can rebuild
our beautiful country.

We haven't lost as much physically as you have, but our education
system and infrastructure have greatly suffered due to money being
spent on a pointless war. Bush and his cronies have made America the
most hated country in the world, and over what? Lies and Ego!

There were no Iraqi terrorists on the planes on 9/11. Al Queda wasn't
strong in Iraq until we attacked that country because of lies told by
Bush.

I hope with all my heart that when the next election comes we can
replace those fools with someone of great insight and intelligence who
can put us back on the right path again.
