Default Goodhart Samplers - Mail S.E.X.

So, on-topic - yeah! Just had the bell ring, and it was a package from
Thistle Threads with the gorgeous book from Needleprint "The Goodhart
Samplers." For those of us in the Goldwork Class, Tricia arranged a group
purchase, and in 2 minutes I decided that this splurge was a worthy one.
All I can say is that if you're interested in historical needlework/samplers
- this is a wow! I think there are about 120 samplers in this - it is a
collection of early samplers, and has great information about the motifs,
writings of the time, etc. I've only just begun to browse through it, and
some of this work could take your breath away.

Most fun, for me, seeing some of the early motifs, plans for different
animals as done in the 16th/17 century. Some really great and inspiring
ideas for squirrels, foxes, dogs - different than the ones typically seen.
Anyhow, I'm sure this is going to keep me intriqued for quite some time and
be a great reference.

Well, back to work stuff or some such - did my first meeting with the
Personal trainer at the gym - meant stress test - woo hoo, and now have been
dealing with the fun of bill paying. More woo hoo!

Not my "thing" but it does sound lovely. Maybe I'll get a chance to leaf
through it some day

It could happen! It's just amazing to me to see such a full collection of
well preserved, historic pieces of work. And interesting to think about
them in the perspective of how/why these were done. Sort of the link of
needleworkers thru the ages.

Anyhow - we're celebrating the 'Cup, as I now won the local pool of our
hockey pals (a moderated list group that's been going for about 14 years).
I'll explain more later, but DH is thoroughly enjoying my win, and the
Hawks. Sad that the Philly fans felt compelled to boo the awarding of the
Conn Smythe, and the Cup. Ugh.

Well - off to bed or somesuch. I have to carpool DH to the Express bus as
he's working downtown this week - so early morning for me. And...then a bit
later I get to go to the big girl potential job to sign for something that
has come for me there from the affiliated gov agency. We're hopeful that
it's just another question for clarification, or the like - and that my
approval will finally come thru!

Went to bed at the end of the third - DD had a game and it's been a long
week. Watched the highlights with DD this AM. What a great goal at the end
of the game. No one said the Philly fans had any class

I was in a dilemma here.....whether to root for the hated Flyers...
or root for Hossa on his third try....ended up not being a problem.
I flipped back and forth between the game and a movie. Caught
the Hawks celebrating. Decided rooting for the Hawks was the
lesser of two evils. The Flyers and Philly fans couldn't get my
support even if they are in PA.

Grew up a Bruins fan and adored Phil Esposito. No issues for me to root for
his brother's team even then.

Root for Philly- never ever ever...
