HMS Daring Quilt
"Dixie" wrote in message ... Sorry Eddie for mispelling your name. Dixie in NB. Hi Dixie NB? where zat?? :-)) Been helping with the setting up of our local Quilt show here in our village of Selsey, Sussex, Uk today. Did all the climbing to high bits to fix quilts for my wife and all her lovely friends. Back tomorrow and Sat morning to look after the door. Then back again on Sunday evening to dismantle it all for another couple of years. HMS Daring is due to join the RN proper in 2009, although she will be in Sea Trials, as the first of her class next year, I believe. Bit off more than I can chew here because it is alllll soooooooooo complicated. How do I quilt in all those individual bits of the superstructure? At the moment I am considering sewing in the main hull. Leaving the top free to enable me to work from stern to bow. Tucking in and sewing in the hull as I go. Newbie Eddie =ph |

I suggest making the superstructure in several small pieces.
Take your sketch and re-draw the top. Then split it up into logical pieces. They may not be squares or rectangles, but they can be superimposed on other pieces if need be, until the whole lot is done. They will be more manageable that way; and, as some will be quite easy, you will get encouraged as you go along. Perhaps leave the quilting details' decisions until you have the top made? g ..
