The Craft Students League is excited to announce six new workshops for
all levels of ceramists in our fall semester plus new classes on
specialized topics such as tableware and vases. Please see below for
a list of classes and descriptions

The Craft Students League is located in midtown Manhattan at the
corner of 53rd and Lexington. Take the E, V, or 6 train to the 53rd
street station.

Important Dates:

Are you creative, but not sure how to turn your ideas into reality?
Students work individually to create their own treasures. Numerous
techniques on surface and structure are explored. Bring three
ideas/pictures/dreams to the first class.

Tile Mural;Construct and Install - All Levels NEW
Students will learn how to design, decorate, and manufacture tile
murals using slabs and press molds. Demonstrations will include tile
making and installation techniques emphasizing pattern layout,
carving, glazing and presentation of finished mural. Projects include
a wooden box with tile, a framed mirror with tile and an additional
independent project. Bring photos, ideas to first class. Material fee:
$35.

Wheel Throwing - Beginner
Learn the basics of working on the potter's wheel and the technical
concerns of functional pottery. Wedging clay and centering on the
wheel are emphasized. Glaze techniques are covered. Bring apron/change
of clothing, old bath towel and $18 for purchase of tool kit to first
class.

Glaze Techniques - Intermediate / Advanced
Learn all about using and mixing glazes. Create effective test tiles,
add stains/colorants, mix, record and analyze results, make and alter
existing recipes and learn about glaze safety. Class will glaze their
own pottery while testing glazes for future use. Bring to first class:
dust mask, notebook, plastic lidded containers, masking tape,
permanent marker, change of clothes or apron.
