Default Twisted Log Cabin

I just noticed that I have a stencil to make something called a Tilted
Squares. It was made by Fiskars and I got it several years ago at
Walmart. You trace thru the stencil onto a muslin foundation and then
piece the block. Just like paper piecing, but the foundation stays on.

Anyway, it looks to me like this would make the block that you all are
talking about. I remember trying something with this stencil, but I
wasn't inspired by my fabric or concept and put it down and forgot all
about it. This may be the inspiration I need to use it! Thanx,
joan

Default Twisted Log Cabin

I appreciate the encouragement...

This quilt has been a long time in the making. My son choose the pattern,
picked out all of the colors, and I have been trying to finish it for almost
two years...

I have never done anything where every fabric was a different solid color...
there are no prints in the fabric selection and a couple of the fabrics
aren't even 100 % cotton and 2 more don't have any cotton at all! It has
made me very nervous and at times, I have no desire to work on it... but, it
is my goal to have it completed (quilted and all) by Christmas. There are 49
squares and 3 borders on it and I only have 8 squares finished. It is
paper-pieced and each square has 29 pieces. I am currently halfway done
with the diagonal rows of 6 squares each that go on both sides of the 7
square diagonal. The eighth block that is finished is a corner square that
is the only one of its kind. (made as a "okay, let's see what this is going
to look like")

So, thanks for the motivation!!
