Default anyone still use their vcr?

I'm cleaning today - well, not really, but wandering aimlessly from
room to room thinking about cleaning...I just had a thought: anyone
want to trade VCR tapes for fat quarters or scraps? I have donated a
lot of videos over the past few years, but still have quite a few left
that I'd like to part with. Email me if you'd like a list.
(In case this seems too off-topic, one is "how to make an american
quilt").

Not very often. With the advent of DVD's and satellite TV with Tivo, I
can't even remember the last time we've used our VCR. It just sits there
gathering dust. You mean I'm supposed to dust it? I did dust everything
just before the nice man came out to switch us from Dish Network to
DirecTV - haven't dusted anything except the TV since then!

I still use the VCR to watch information type tapes---Sewing with Nancy, and
DH looks at wood work tapes that he sometimes gets. Got any of those types
you want to get rid of?

Still use mine to tape Simply Quilts at eeek o'clock. Even got a new one
this year....have had quite a time getting it to 'record' from Dish
Satellite. So far it has only recorded ONE show : ( And it says EASY set-up!
Yeah, right : )

Pretty much the only tapes we watch are kid videos, since the kids have a
tv/vcr combo in one of their bedrooms. If you've got any young kid-type
videos, I'd be interested in a trade!

Sorry, no kiddie videos and no sewing/woodworking info videos. Oh well
- guess they'll go in the next sal army/goodwill box... at least it's a
'sellable' item.

You don't by any chance have the Centennial series (12 tapes) do you?

This is probably way out, but I've been thinking about something since I
first saw the report on Waveland, MS that showed the total devastation. One
thing the mayor, or someone, spoke about in a very saddened way, was the
loss of the library, among all the rest of bad things. I've been thinking
that if each of us saved only one or two of the books or tapes we're done
with and sent them down there once the re-building is about done, we'd go a
long way to helping restock the library. I'm saving all my paper backs
hoping to get them there.

That's a nice idea, Gen.
No, sorry, Linda, no centennial series.
Hey, Wendy, I just remembered that I do have Jim Hensen's Dark Crystal
in my pile of tapes.
