Default progress with my "peas"

Wow! I'm excited...I can't wait to have a happy dance only the end of
this major project; I'm going to do a few quick turns and spins at each
section.

I've been SO disciplined about sitting in the sunshine (when we have it,
lately only about 50% of days) to do the over-one stitching ("eating my
peas," I call it, before I allow myself the "dessert" fun part of the
design). Yesterday I got through half of the very last letter of my
Italian phrase - I had to put it down with only a few stitches left,
because we were racing to the car place to pick up a car before they
closed. So I'll finish that today, and will gladly twirl and spin a few
times before moving on to complete another over-one alphabet area,
currently completed through "F", IIRC.

C'mon out for a quick twirl with me!

(The project, which some of you have seen *many* times before, is
http://www.scarlet-letter.com/rsdesc...p/coraggio.htm)

(Yesterday I told DH, "I'm going out to sit in the sun and stitch with a
cup of tea and an audiobook... so if the phone rings you'll have to come
find me." And thought to myself, "In the future, I should shorten that
and just tell him, 'I'm going to my happy place'," and he'll just know.)

Another intermediate twirl for a lobster cushion. I saw the design in a
BritStitch magazine and it to me in the voice of a friend who lives in
Lobsterland - it will look lovely in her 9-mo. room. So last night I
finished the cross-stitch lobster and hope sometime this weekend to have
time to sew up an envelope cushion with the lobster on the front and
some nice nautical fabric on the back. Full dance to follow after the
pillow is assembled (and pictures posted then; we FINALLY bought a
digital camera!).

Congrats, Sue on what sounds like fabulous progress. Seems to me I saw this
in the works about 2 years ago? Or am I just confused - regardless - it was
gorgeous in the works, and no doubt even more gorgeous now.

I will twirl euphemistically with you - having had my fair share of steps
and balancing at PT today (for my stupid torn meniscus).

(Yesterday I told DH, "I'm going out to sit in the sun and stitch with a

LOL- sounds fabulous. I was just looking at my outdoor happy place - and
realized that the weeds have taken over the patio. Argh. So, no sitting
and stitching - instead I think a couple of bouts of Round-up, weed-pulling,
and re-sanding the stones. Ugh. But, at least DH said he will pull the
jungle that took over the bed cut for my "cutting garden" which will then be
refilled and covered with garden barrier stuff before the next planting.

More congrats. You're inspiring me to actually clear off the sewing machine
area and do some finish finishing! I'm sure it will be lovely.

*At least* two years!! It hasn't come out at all over the winters, and
last summer I started to prioritize it and fizzled out. Which makes it
even more exciting to see real progress now. It's sort of like falling
in love again, LOL! It's my "second honeymoon" piece.

Well, enjoy the 2nd honeymoon. It's a stunning piece, and I'm so glad that
you've been able to pull it back out and are able to get it finished! I do
so admire that you manage to do these really large pieces, and get them
completed - no matter that it's an "eventual" kind of finish.

Keep on dancin' -
Ellice
