Default New tool, at least to me

I'm using a template shaped as an arc and it slips ever so slightly
when I cut around it. I decided to go to Wally World and get some
Scotch Tape because everything else I've tried didn't work, you know the
little sand paper dots, etc.

I was looking at the tape and thinking it would be nice if scotch tape
was double sided.

Darned if I didn't find. There is a permanent kind for mounting
pictures and a temporary kind. I got the temporary. I came home and
tried it. Just enough hold to keep the template from moving.

I'm glad you got the difficulty sorted this time, Kate; but, if you run
out of double-sides Scotch tape, the home remedy that I have seen
'bandied about', but not on here for a while, is:
paint small areas of nail polish (clear would be best obviously!), and
before they dry - work quickly, then - sprinkle the patches with salt.

Oh for goodness sake, Kate. I wish you'd let Yogi and me know that you were
having troubles. He can turn squeaky clean glass into a gummy sticky
surface with his cute little black nose in just a jiffy. Polly

I like the Nexcare clear first aid tape from 3M for that purpose. It's
clear so you can see through it and has enough texture to help grip your
fabric.

Hey Polly:

Well I didn't think of Yogi, darn. That pup is so loveable I'd forget
all about quilting and just want to play with him. Humm, that gives me
an idea, maybe I can get Traveler, my tom cat, to run his nose on the
template to make it sticky. He's left enough nose prints on my kitchen
window that I have to wash it once a week.

Thank you! I've heard a tip like this before but never knew a brand to
look for. It's now on my grocery list.

you cab use a needle gripper under the template to keep it from sticking -
no mess ever :-)
