equipment
My preference in boards is definitely a minimum of 18 x 24, since you can
lay out a piece of fabric folded so your selvages are lined up and get a nice straight cut ...And on the right table can be easily turned so you do not have to disturb the fabric once you have it laid out flat and straight. I too find that the olfa blades last longer....and my BIG pet peeve is the acryllic rulers with the black lines and a 5" width....one can go blind using black lines on dark fabrics.....I am so used to the 6" width that it is hard to switch gears to the 5" which seems so narrow to stabilize with your left hand as you cut....hint probably redundant but a piece of blue painters tape(low tack masking tape which does not leave residue, available at menard's, Home Depot, etc) at the measurement you are using most in a project is helpful so that you don't have to keep searching for the measurement....
