Default Silvered bugle beads

I use 25mm clear glass bugle beads to make suncatchers, the skinny tubular
ones with the silvery coating on the inside. I noticed that in some of my
suncatchers that had been hanging in the window for a few years, the
silvery stuff in the beads appeared to be wearing off. Has anyone else
noticed this? Is this something that normally happens over time, or are
they affected by moisture? (It's possible that I ran water over some of
them to clean them, but I can't remember.) Or did I just use cheap beads,
and are there more durable ones I could be using instead? And is there a
good source for these beads that someone could recommend?

Hope I don't ask too many questions!

Sue

Silvered beads will always change over time - the silver coating oxides
and will wear away over time. Mmoisture probably will speed up
deterioration of the lining.
Not much you can do about it....
sorry
