Ya mean, with all our warm wishes directed your way, you were still

Welcome back, dear. Don't you get annoyed when people refer to it as a
"vacation" when actually it is nothing of the kind?

Who called it a vacation?
Victoria

I was speaking generally. It frequently happens around here after we
have evacuated on threat of a hurricane.

Many of us have been through electrical problems after storms. It's a
fairly constant problem here in Florida.

You seem to be the only one who didn't understand that the word vacation was
meant as sarcasm and certainly wasn't offensive to anyone but you.

Just spoke w/ Cheryl a few minutes ago. She's doing the hockey rink
shuffle, and evidently preparing to tackle mountains of laundry. The fridge
is bare - though w/ sparkling clean shelves. She sounds good- her neighbor
doesn't have power - but Cheryl does (something to do with the neighbor's
line coming from the street behind).

Anyhow - I imagine she'll check in eventually. Was glad that she sounded
good - got the info on their stay in 2 different hotels - the latter giving
them a suite at a bargain when the clerk saw little Elise come dragging in
with mom post-hockey!

Well, got to run myself.

I understood that - wanted to strangle my mother who would call with odd
little tidbits, leave a message on the home phone that I would then have to
scan from my cell phone and listen to the whole damn thing. But not a word
about the important things (my cousin Pat was hit by a car and died
instantly and my Dad was in the hospital).
