Come to think of it, I remember they wound the wool loosely. I tend to wind tight. Guess I never asked why they wound the balls the way they did. Murielle I've only just seen this. We didn't have to ask why, we were told that they must not be wound tight or it would stretch and affect the natural elasticity of the wool. To achieve a loose wind we held the ball and wound the wool round it and two or three of the fingers which were holding it. Mary |
