Default My moved and refurbished website

Well, it's mostly finished. Some stuff is still among the missing, and
the opening page needs work, and other pages have yet to receive the
"treatment," but other than that...

http://www.red-death.com/~beadles/index.html

Please report broken links or missing pictures, but I'm still working on
about half the pages. :-)

I must give credit to some dude in Australia who calls himself "brucie"
for the assistance in working out the template and style sheet.

PS: Red Death is an alcoholic beverage, the effects of which (so I'm
told) are not unlike those of a Pan-Galactic Gargleblaster. If you go
to their main page, www.red-death.com (which comprises the entire
website, so far), you can get the recipe for it and see another image I
create for their use. ;o)

I like it! But... I hope this is OK to say, but I prefer it with the
plain midnight-blue background that I see for several seconds before the
busier, swirly background fills in. It's "dreamier" to me that way,
and it sets off the nice header so well. The swirls and stuff seem more
geometrical than dreamy, and also since they take a moment to load, even
on cable, they're a bit startling when they do appear.

Have you considered one big, faint swirl, like the Milky Way?

At times, yes. For the moment, though, until I figure out how to make
the background not scroll with the page, it will have to stay. Besides,
all of the index pages at www.arondelle.com also have that blue foilard
in the background, and I'm trying to keep the look consistant.

Well, the one big swirl. It took me longer to create the background
than it did to change the webpages. CSS is wonderful, once you get the
gist of it.

Just to let you know the background tiles on a screen size of 1024. I
defiantly prefer the plain background! Looks loads more professional!

Charlie.

I love your stuff, Arondelle. Just to let you know, the vessel links didn't
work. The last three under Misc. didn't work either. All but the first one
didn't work under ornaments.

Of course, it tiles: it's only 800x600 which is larger than the
viewport in a browser on an 800x600 screen. For me, a "larger" screen
size makes text that much harder to read, but YMMV.

Actually, I'm not crazy about the bandwidth requirements for downloading
such a huge file as a background. But, *I* like a background graphic.
If I were a professional anything, I'd leave the background out, but I'm
not, so I won't.

Thanks. I'm still converting those -- except I think the vessels should
be done. Hmmm....
