paper pieced quilt picture and irregular log cabin
These are 2 old quilts that I was very pleased with at the time and now
am going back and seeing all the flaws. The Animal quilt is made with an Alexander Henry print for the animals surrounded by irregular log cabin logs as described in Roberta Horton's _Fabric Makes the Quilt_ to make different sized blocks, then put together somehow. My machine quilting has gotten much better. That was my first try with embellishment. I stuck buttons on wherever there was a flaw in the quilting that needed covering up. The paper pieced quilt is one I did in a class to learn paper piecing. I've often said how I tried to grasp the concept from books and couldn't get it. The class was great for me. Now I sit down with graph paper and draft my own patterns, but this quilt was made a store bought pattern. APaperpiecedflowers.jpg AnimalQuilt.jpg AnimalscloseupGiraffe.jpg --Lia |

The paper pieced flowers are very pretty! I tried paper piecing last year and
pretty much sucked at it. I still have the samples and cringe whenever I look a them. kaila |
