Logo for Vancouver 2010 Olympics.
I am not sure how many people outside Canada are interested, but the logo for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics should turn into a very nice counted cross stitch pattern, I strongly suspect. If I have spelled it correctly, it is called Ilanaaq, which means "Friend" in Inuit. -- Jim Cripwell. From Canada. Land of the Key Bird. This creature of doom flies over the frozen tundra in winter, shrieking its dreaded call; "Key, Key, Key, Key rist but it's cold!!" |

I just looked it up and found a news article that translated it as "hope,
friendship and an external expression of the hospitality of a nation that warmly welcomes the people of the world with open arms." It's very elegant and I think beautiful. Whatever, I guess they feel touched it was suggested and chosen. |

Alternatively google on "illanaaq", there should not be too many hits. HTH. -- Jim Cripwell. From Canada. Land of the Key Bird.
