Default OT - Neat gizmo for travelers

You know how it is when you're driving way out in the middle of nowhwere -
not a decent radio station to be found? You want some tunes, and they're
all on your CDs or your MP3 player - and it's not a good idea to drive with
headsets on.

I've found there are several gizmos out that will take the headset output
and transmit it to your FM radio - no more need for that awkward casette
thingy with the wire that doesn't work half the time!

One of the first out and best known is IRock. Haven't tried one, but they
have a good reputation. While looking for one, I found a less expensive
model. You get what you pay for - it's more a pain than it's worth. Hard
to tune, and it has to be plugged into cigarette lighter for power. Hated
it!

While wandering through Wally World, found another similar item by Belkin (a
well respected company for computer cables, and lately other accessories) -
actually two different models. The basic TuneCast only transmits to four
frequencies at the bottom of the FM band - kind of limitting. Go up about
$10 to the TuneCast II, and you have the entire FM band available, with
DIGITAL TUNING!. And you can set four presets. It runs off two AAA
batteries, or optionally of a cigarette lighter adapter. Made the tuning
easy, worked like a champ. No more cross country drives without it!!

If you can't find it in any local stores, try Newegg.com (best price today)
or Wally World online (www.wal-mart.com) or Amazon.com or ...
