Default OT whine

This is going to sound pathetic, but all I want to do is spend one whole
entire day fiddling around with stuff and sorting glass and cutting PVC
pipe into 12" lengths. Just to play with tools, maybe turn some soil in
the garden, plant a raspberry, sniff the late autumn decay of foliage in
the back yard. I want to halfway clean out the toolshed, and then lose
interest and start on something else. I want to move a bunch of stuff
from one end of the yard to the other, for no particular reason, and
build a firepit so I can start a small fire and sit next to it for a
minute to get the chill out of my hands so I can go back to cutting PVC.
I want to start framing the front wall of my studio, and I want to stop
when I feel like stopping. Maybe I want to reprogram my kiln. I want to
eat nothing but jerky and dried cherries all day, and fried eggs for
dinner. With wine. Just because.

I want one. whole. day. Just for me.

Kalera,

I am SO there with you. 8 months with the longest 'for me' stretch being a
paltry 2 hours. I love the kiddo, but I long for my own space, too.

Kalera, that's not pathetic at ALL. Its a very reasonable set of requests,
actually....

hey are you using a PVC cutter? we built a whole show booth and rackage out of
PVC before I discovered that sucker exists. WAY easier on your hands than the
darn coping saw!!!!!

That sounds like a heavenly kind of day. No fireworks.. just one of those
days that feels ... good. Plain, old fashioned, satisfying.
Im not sure why it is you cant have this day you long for...
Diana, hoping you get one anyway

Oh Kalera, I'm right there with you. My little Aiden is only 2 1/2 months old, but I long for a day to myself. I love him to pieces,
but I really could use some "me" time. It's pretty much impossible since I'm breastfeeding and most of the time my hubby tries to
give him a bottle, he fights it and barely eats anything. He just prefers his momma, which isn't a bad thing. It just makes it
pretty difficult to get much time to myself. Plus, he's been sick off and on since the bead show, so things have been extra hard.

Maybe, you and I could arrange to get together for lunch or something sometime soon and talk glass. We deserve a little time away to
recharge and talking about glass and beads with someone really does the trick for me. Are you game????

(((hugs)))

Good luck. I'm still waiting for one... 18+ years and counting.... And the ones
in the 30 years before that were few and far between. And before THAT time... I
was my stay-at-home mama's responsibility....
