Fooey! Wish I would have known!!! i surely would have enjoyed that ! Yes,
that's the reason. The company was new and it was an
introductory offer. I got the set of stranded then, too, and almost
cried when the colors came because they were so beautiful. I had
never thought I would be able to afford an entire set of silk threads.

Wow! Why was it so cheap? Was the company new?
I got in on the introductory offer several years ago where I could buy
the original 450 colors direct from Yodamo for $100. Talk about a
steal!

I was wondering how many others have this. I also got mine for $100, when
Brenda did, and found a nice tool cabinet, with drawers just the right size
for the silks. I guess I should stitch with some, one of these days.
Actually, I had thought of doing one of Silver Lining's small pansies with
the silk.

Here's the prices from http://www.vintagevogue.com/onlinestore/cat39_1.htm

Mini Twist = 545 colors @ $0.75 each = $408.75
Mini Twist Overdyed = 140 colors @ $1.50 each = $210.00
Stranded = 545 colors @ $0.85 each = $463.25
Stranded Overdyed = 140 colors @ $1.70 each = $238

There is also the silk twist but it comes in fewer colors. I'm sure
other stores are selling it for different prices but this listing seems
to be the low end of MSRP.

I bought them back years and years ago when they first came out, via a deal
that they offered here on rctn, I believe. I haven't used most of them, but
will..someday!

That's when I got mine - I got both the mini-twist and the stranded at
the same time. I could afford it then because it was around $200 for
both. I'd have to get a bit at a time now if I wanted all of it!
