Default Sunny Sunday Morning

X-NoArchive:yes

Hi Everybody -

After a Thanksgiving that featured a nor'easter w/heavy rain and gusty
wind, the weather turned almost Spring-like here in Central CT. It's
been warm and sunny since Friday Morning - certainly a great holiday
weekend weatherwise. It's almost warm enough to go out onto the patio
and crochet the PL afghans.

It' s just about a year since I first found this group and I wanted to
mention to you all how much I appreciate all your contributions,
messages and helpful hints and of course all our other conversations. I
find the Yarners group difficult to navigate with all its' "bells and
whistles", so I continue to check in here daily where it is still
simple to ask a question or post an answer.

As one who has spent her life in Connecticut, I continue to be
fascinated by the traditions and crafts of those members of this group
who live all around the globe. Though our locations and residences are
miles - and time zones away - we can all speak the same language of
those who work with their hands to create beauty.

So, on this weekend, I am thankful for all of you.

Default Sunny Sunday Morning

I have the excuse that I didn't get out of bed until 1 pm today, so I
am a bit behind! I wish we would get a *bit* of sunshine here in
western Sweden. I have been doing "catch-up" work, finishing a lot of
small projects that each needed just a few steps to be complete. But
then I HAD to start crocheting a new round bag (to be felted in the
washer) and now I am also working on a new rectangular bag but I forgot
to buy more yarn when I was shopping Friday.

My elderly neighbor's funeral was on Wed. As part of the funeral
service the priest talked about how thoughtful Kerstin was, that she
was always baking and knitting for her husband and how much those homey
activities had meant to her husband. Now that she is gone, I don't
think he will be with us much longer either.
