woven bracelets
I've been looking for a certain type of clasp for some bracelets/cuffs I've
been making. I weave cuffs on and off the loom and I saw a long toggle clasp with lots of loops on it in a magazine but I haven't been able to find where to buy it. At the moment i've been sewing the woven pieces onto leather and attaching press studs which does achieve quite a cool look but I'd like to have the option of attaching the clasp directly to the piece for a different look. Does anyone have any suggestions? -- :::Amie::: |

I'd like to have the
option of attaching the clasp directly to the piece for a different look. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any metal clasp. I attach all kinds of metal clasps to my offloom pieces (the majority of my work). ~~ Sooz ------- "Those in the cheaper seats clap. The rest of you rattle your jewelry." I weave bracelets on a loom and finish them off three different ways:
-- For something fancy, I use silver toggle clasps from www.beadweaving.com. (They also sell great looms.) You slide the beadwork through a metal bar and fold it back, then stitch it down. I bury the warp threads under the piece I fold back. -- At my local bead store, I buy magnetic tube clasps - the magnet makes it easier for me to get the bracelet on and off my wrist. I buy a three loop one in gold vermeil (about $9) but there are 2 loop ones as well. Then I stich the loops to the edge of the beadwork (first I fold the beadwork back to bury the warp threads). -- I make cuff braclets, using metal cuffs from www.moondancedesigns.com. I attach the beadwork to the top of the cuff (using two sided craft tape), Ultrasuede underneath, and then I sew the edges together. You can buy the Ultrasuede and tape there (plus yummy seed beads and loads of neat supplies). "Zanaida" wrote in message ... Sweetie -- MAKE the toggle out of beads, with lots of loops. If you wish!
