Hi all,

This is not a nice returning post to have to make to the group but it's
come to my attention that someone is taking free patterns from my
website (www.knitting-and.com) and then selling them on their website.

I just want to say for the record that this is NOT OK. Not only is
selling another person's work illegal (even if they are giving it away
for free), but changing the names and then selling patterns that are
available for free is downright immoral.

I'm seriously unimpressed.

Sarah

Sorry to hear that, Sarah. I have used several of your patterns in the past,
and gotten great praise for the results. I have always told people where I
got the patterns.

I don't blame you! That's awful. I don't know who it is, but whoever it
is - SHAME on you!

Please come back and post about your craft work.

Seems that the webpage with the patterns is off line as of tonight
http://www.noreensknitche.com/patterns/
but you can still order her ebook for a mere $25.95.
How can she sleep at night?

You've managed to determine that Noreen is the culprit because part of
her website is down?

It's a small world, Wooly. Maybe bj is the one who let Sarah know
about the infringement in the first place? Some of us aren't thieves.
Some of us even look out for each other.

nod.

Who is supposed to be a thief? Straightforward discussion is
certainly better than veiled accusations. If you, or BJ, or anyone
else have something to say just say it, don't priss around.

I'll say it, since I was there for the investigation. Yes, Noreen was the
culprit. She had the knittingand photos up, as well as several others from
other previously published patterns.

Yes, it was Noreen. If you look at

http://www.knitting-and.com/blog/blo...een/images.jpg

you'll see the top row are the images that Noreen had on her website as
patterns for sale and the botom row are the images from my website
shrunk to the same size. They're not just similar, they're the same.
She just shifted the colours over and added a border in an attempt to
try and disguise them.

http://www.noreensknitche.com/archiv...t.html#a000003
is a post on her blog with the images from my page alluding that they
are ORIGINAL patterns. They're not.
