Photo transfer help
A friend of mine recently received a quilt as a 25th wedding anniversary
gift, made by her 17-year-old niece. It has many photos in it done by a variety of processes. Some are okay, but a few, including the central one of herself and her husband, are already cracking and peeling. Is there any way to rescue these--at least seal them to prevent further deterioration? Has anyone had a similar problem? Betty in CT |

Sounds like the centre one may have been done using iron on "transfer" paper
and then when the quilt was washed and dried, I'm assuming in a drier, the heat was too much for it. Not sure what you can do but I would suggest not washing it again. -- Sharon from Melbourne Australia Queen of Down Under http://www.geocities.com/shazrules/craft.html http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/shazrules/my_photos ********************** "Clooniff" wrote in message ... Haven't done this, but here is a guess. Might be best
to just do another one with the same photograph. Use a more stable technique of course. Peel off as much as possible form the damaged one. Applique the new one over the damaged one. GO HOKIES! Poor Fran has only had the quilt a week--I wonder if her niece washed it
before giving it to them. Betty in CT |
