Water-soluble waste canvas
Yes, that's what it says! Just got my newsletter from DMC and they
announced a new product: Water-soluble waste canvas!! Here's what they said about it: "... using our NEW Water Soluble 14-count Waste Canvas which is available at SHOP DMC for your shopping convenience. "This innovative 14-count waste canvas dissolves when soaked in water! "All you need to do is tack the canvas to your chosen material and cross stitch as usual……simply place the finished piece in a bowl of warm water and the canvas disappears leaving you with a customized piece of accessory or home decor item!" Now *that* could be very handy! Wonder how long till it's in the stores? Joan |

HMMM, I'm off to Janet's this afternoon. We leave for the Celebration of Needlework "do" at 0dark:30 tomorrow morning so maybe I will see some of it at the Marketplace. If so, you KNOW I will purchase myself a bit of it :-). CiaoMeow ^;;^ PAX, Tia Mary ^;;^ (RCTQ Queen of Kitties) Angels can't show their wings on earth but nothing was ever said about their whiskers! According the British stitching mags, it's been available there for about five or six months. Hopefully, it will be here soon. As to the staining issue, the article I read didn't mention it. The instructions are to soak the finished item in "hot soapy water" for about 10 minutes, and that should do it. It would certainly be easier to use, I think, than traditional waste canvas, but it seems fairly expensive. An 8 inch square sheet costs three pounds, 95 pence, in Britain. That would be about 9 dollars here in Canada. Louisa |
