New goodie on the way!
Karen,
I have a Camedia 2000Z series and love it! congrats on the purchase and I look forward to seeing the pics! -- Barbara www.penguintrax.com eBay: pnguintrax Justbeadsenguintrax 0 /O\ "Karen_AZ" wrote in message news:foZLa.173554$eJ2.31701@fed1read07... I'm so excited I just had to share. And yes, it's bead-related because that's the main purpose in my purchase. I FINALLY bought myself a digital camera! I've been "shopping" since Xmas, but couldn't make up my mind. I narrowed it down to 2 choices, but my first choice (the Fuji Finepix S-602) stayed elusively out of my preferred price range. So I opted for my 2nd choice, the Olympus Camedia C-4000Z. It has all the right specs, including a great macro mode, and checks out as a good landscape camera too. Living in sunny-day landscape central out here, that's almost as important to me as shooting my beads and jewelry. Soooo, no more godawful scanner pix of my beads! I loved regular photography and took a few courses in college. I've pined for my own darkroom for years. Can't wait to get my hands on this camera to play play play! LOL I'll get to give it a nice test drive, too. Mike just called to propose a long weekend road trip after the kids head back east. We're going to Bryce Canyon, the north rim of the Grand Canyon, and looping around to Laughlin Nevada. Carol, I'll wave north to you! G One of these days I swear I'm gonna drive up to SLC. Anyway, I won my toy on Ebay, just called in to give them my delivery info, and they said it will ship in 3 business days, so I should get it sometime next week. Guess I should go make some new beads! -- KarenK Desert Dreamer Designs http://members.cox.net/desertdreameraz/ Ebay Sto http://www.stores.ebay.com/desertdreamerdesigns JustBeads: http://www.justbeads.com/search/ql.cfm?s=DesertDreamer |

Congrats on the new camera, Karen.
I was just thinking this morning how much I use my camera and that it's paid for itself over and over since I got it in Oct. I have a fuji, but not the one you were looking at. Thanks, everyone, for the happy thoughts about my camera-to-be. I'm waiting
eagerly for my UPS tracking number. LOL Lori, (hiya!) you asked: Have you used one before or always a scanner? I've tinkered with friend's digicams but never used one to shoot my beads. I've used my "old fashioned" SLR to shoot slides for jurying though, so I have a reasonable grip on picture setup. For a while I considered shooting regular pix, having them processed onto a photo CD and using THEM for auctions, but the delay and the expense was way beyond the time and cost for my scanner. Hehe, I used to scan my beads at work, where they had a high quality HP scanner. Way more fun than gossiping at lunch. G One of these days, Lori, we should get together, since you live pretty close. Do you ever go to the AZ SGB meetings??? I'm wondering if I've met you without realizing it. -- KarenK Desert Dreamer Designs http://members.cox.net/desertdreameraz/ Ebay Sto http://www.stores.ebay.com/desertdreamerdesigns JustBeads: http://www.justbeads.com/search/ql.cfm?s=DesertDreamer |
