Diamond purchase

Having done my research I have found a diamond that I would like to buy
for an engagement ring.

The diamond is 1ct and is GIA certifiied.

My question is: Can I trust it?

I have done my homework and "know" what I should or should be after -
in the basic sense on the term.

Having looked on other "high street" jewellers sites they say "We pass
on 95% of ceritified diamonds because they don't pass our test"

What is peoples opinion?

Bull****! What is "our test"? Ask them to describe it in detail. I
bet you that they can't. If they say something like "You can trust us",
... take your money and run!

There is no better test for diamonds, than a stone with a GIA cert.
Just make sure that the stone you get is the stone that is described on
the cert.

My opinion is don't go into debt buying a diamond when you're just
starting out in a marriage.
Use the money for a down payment on a home.
I'm a jeweler and offered my then-to-be wife the option: a 1ct D
flawless or a house. She took the house. I finally gave her a 3 ct
diamond ring (two 1.5 ct. old European cuts in platinum) on our 19th
anniversary...

Sorry to steal the thread but can I just say, Abrasha, I had a look at your
site and you make THE most stunning jewellery ever. I normally tend to go
for more vintage or tribal/ethnic jewellery, but your creations are quite
something. Well done :-)
