"LC aka Fiddy" wrote in message ... I don't know about that. Sofia is held all day at home, except when she is sound asleep, but when we go out I feel safer having her in the car seat, and not hanging from me, especially if I need hands like in the supermarket, or to open doors, etc.... I'm with ya. I would find any pediatrician who was that rigid on any ONE point of opinion as to whether to bring an infant in inside a seat (where my daughter was when were were in public for the reasons Dr.Q mentioned, as well as so that I had hands free to fend off folks who wanted to "pet" her...) to be a doctor that I would not want to work with. My pediatrician was always very "mom, use your instincts", and I loved that about him. I have a very healthy, happy 9 year old, some something must have gone right!!! I love the carriers because you don't have to disturb little sleeping angels when they fall asleep in the car! (which is all the time for my sweet Lily...though i have to say that it gets quite heavy, and i make DH lug that thing around!) kristen |

That's why I used a carry pouch thing till he got too heavy, about 5-6
months old. Mine was 8-14 when she was born, and I had spinal surgery a few years earlier, there was NO way that thing would work for me!! LOL...Plus, the couple times I tried..she HATED it and howled to be out. She was a "carry me facing forward or I'll shriek" baby! I feel like she gets all squished and hot in the snuggly... her face is
stuck against my chest and gets all red and marked! I use it but I think I'll like it better when she is older and can sit facing forward! btw, I am still waiting for the sling. I was going to make one but my friend told me she was giving me hers which she never used - got one from another friend to copy, took pics, tested it, and then I had to give it back.... my other friend forgot to bring it when she came to meet Sofia, but she has put it in the mail for me now (she lives in Seattle too... how lazy is that - on both our sides!) ) melinda wrote: That's why I used a carry pouch thing till he got too heavy, about 5-6 months old. -- Dr. Quilter Ambassador of Extraordinary Aliens http://community.webshots.com/user/mvignali (take the dog out before replying) |

[snip] I never had a real problem with the carry pouch (Damaro(sp) brand), DS has always had very good muscles people think it's amazing that he was lifting his head off my chest within a half hour of being born. By the time DS was old enough to face forward, he was getting too heavy, so he was only facing forward for about a month or two. -- Melinda http://cust.idl.com.au/athol |

oh, this is when she falls asleep inside the snuggli - we are also
surprised to by how she holds her head since very early on - I thought they were not supposed to do that until later.. - she gives you head bangs on the face and gets really frustrated when she can't hold it any longer! melinda wrote: Dr. Quilter wrote: I feel like she gets all squished and hot in the snuggly... her face is stuck against my chest and gets all red and marked! I'm constantly amazed when reading books on baby development and seeing how far advanced DS is! He slept quite happily in the carry pouch, but it was winter here so overheating wasn't going to be a major issue. -- Melinda http://cust.idl.com.au/athol |
