Default Kudos to Tabletop Studio!

Some of you might remember my frustration in dealing with Adorama last
month... well, this month I have a story that is a study in opposites
compared to my other experience! I felt I should post it since I ranted
and raved so much about Adorama.

Last week I ordered a three-light set and a piece of background paper
from Tabletop Studio (tabletopstudio.com). It seemed a little more
expensive than peicing together a similar setup from other vendors, but
when I added the extra shipping for getting everything elsewhere, it was
pretty close... and this way, I knew that everything I got would work
together correctly, because they specialize in what I need. No
disappointments. Their shipping is a lot cheaper than other vendors,
too, so all things considered, the bottom line was about the same.

Everything arrived very quickly and packed well... but there was a
broken piece on one of the light stands. I emailed Tabletop Studio and
heard back VERY quickly; they were sending a replacement immediately,
with a shipping label so I could pack up the broken one in the
replacement box and send it back at their expense with no hassles.

I started taking pictures with the other two lights set up, and right
away two of the lightbulbs went out, one after another, in the same
lamp. Thinking it might be the lamp, I emailed Tabletop Studio again
asking what to do, and within minutes I received a reply from Stephen,
saying that it was most likely not the lamp, but that some rough
handling in shipping had damaged the bulbs, and that he would send
replacement bulbs right away!

Now THAT'S customer service! What a great company to order from! They've
won a customer for life, and I recommend them heartily... they're the best!

Matthew, I understand where you're coming from, and in fact I've built
two of my own softboxes for next to nothing, but but I'm not an amateur
and what I specifically needed here was three studio lights with 10"
reflectors, adjustable-height floor stands, and 5100k compact
fluorescent bulbs. If you can show me how I can build those for less
than $50/light (not forgetting to factor in the cost of my time) I'd be
delighted, but I have done a ton of research and this company had
exactly what I needed for an acceptable price, and they paired that with
superb customer service.

Figured I'd pass that info on to others who might be looking for a
similar experience.

I've had exactly the same experience with Table Top Studio--wonderful.
I've built my own boxes, but the photo cube box and the table top
lights make it really easy--and easy is where it's at! The less time
away from the torch, the better.

Thanks for sharing, Kalera!

Nolly
