I keep trying to figure out how I can get my portraits seen so I did a
bead and portrait auction. Hopefully Bob won't make me take it down
because of the portrait. I mean the auction includes the portrait and
the bead! I hope you'll have a look...

He's Eddie Cahill, who plays detective Don Flack on CSI: New York. He's
a hottie, isn't he? I don't really expect anyone to bid on this
auction but if nothing else it's a way to get my portrait work seen and
maybe I can get some commissions. We on Talk CSI are always talking
about Don Flack's shirts and ties and whether they match, etc, and
sometimes the pendants I make look to me like they'd make much better
tie patterns than some of the hideous ones that men wear!!! It's just
fun, what can I say? Thanks Kandice!

If I were you I'd try something like that on Ebay. There are a lot more
people looking for entertainment collectibles there and I think you did
a very nice job with the portrait!
You have to make sure to include as many related words as you can think
of in the description so people can find it through search too. I think
holiday weekends are not a good representative time for auction
experiments so you should try again if it doesn't work out.

One of these days I'll clear up my dispute with ebay so I can start
listing there again. I think it's going to be a must if I start selling
lampwork with any frequency. It's tough because in order to clear
things up with them I have to pay them money that I know I don't owe
them but I'll never be able to prove it. So it's bite the bullet, shell
out $150 and move on. Which would be ok if I had the money to spare!!!
Thanks for your compliments on my work!!! It's much appreciated.

Didn't he play Tag on Friends? (Rachel's assistant, who became her
boyfriend)

That is an awesome portrait.

yes, and he was also on Sex and the City, as Karrie's bi-sexual
boyfriend. I've been trying to locate the Friends episodes that he was
in so I can rent them.

Thanks Sooz! That's my first love, portrait drawing.

You're really, *really* good. I totally examined your piece. I think
most people who do portraits get them jussssst a little off, and it
looks weird. You do NOT do that. (I was selling large-canvas portrait
paintings when I was 17)

He was in some of the past-the-middle-of-the-run-of-the-series episodes
-- when Rachel worked for Ralph Lauren. He looked different then -- he
was definitely younger. Isn't he beautiful? Gawd!!
Then he showed up when she was first pregnant, hoping to get back
together with her (til he found out she was knocked up).
If that helps any!

He's got classic old Hollywood movie star looks. He's only 28. He looks
like he'll be one of those men who just gets more handsome as he ages.
I looked up his Friends episodes on IMDB, I just have to find them at
Blockbuster!!!

You were doing portrait paintings at 17? That's when I was working with
oils too. I've been doing portraits since I was 14, and I'm now 51 so
that's really most of my life. I tried doing them for a living but it
just doesn't work. I do commission work occasionally.

Thanks for your compliments!

Yep, that's him. Weird to see him playing all "grown up and serious"
now on CSI

He was also in a very short-lived (but good and creepy) series called
"Glory Days".

Cheers,
Carla (who watches *way* too much tv)
