miniaturizing wallpaper tutorial

Hi,
I have been experimenting with duplicating full size wallpaper patterns
in miniature. It has been frustrating for what I thought would be a simple
job. I have put up a tutorial/description of my first efforts and what I
have learned. Don't be put off by the conputer graphics instructions if you
are a computer novice. If you can read this posting on your computer, then
you have or can download whatever computer software is needed. I know some
of what I have written is poorly explained, so comments and suggestions are
really wanted.
